Junior competition

Bunyip Bulls enters teams from Under 10s through to Under 19s in the junior competition and an Aussie Hoops program for Under 8s.

Some age groups have up to three (3) levels of grades such as A, A reserve (AR) and B.

  • A grade is generally for children who play basketball regularly, at an advanced level and specifically for children who play in representative squad teams and / or in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) on Friday nights.
  • AR is usually for children who have played more than 2-4 seasons of basketball and who have a good grasp of the rules of the game, well developed skills and who are not playing at a higher level outside of the domestic competition.
  • B grade is reserved for children who have never played basketball or who have basic skills and knowledge of the game.

Of course, these are guidelines only. The selection committee along with coaches are responsible for placing children in grades and teams and occasionally players and or teams will be moved up or down grades and into different teams to ensure that the most competitive and enjoyable competition is achieved for all.
